Crochet Pocket Shawl

It seems that the pocket shawl is timeless. We all love it. Feels warm and cosy when it wraps around the shoulders. Put your hand inside the pockets and keep them warm.

Material: medium yarn 4,  Bernat Premium, 7oz, 198 g, 360 yards( 329m) – 3 skeins,  crochet hook 6,5 mm, yarn needle, scissors

Stitch keyCh – chain, HDc – half double crochet, FPDC – front post double crochet, BPDC – back post double crochet,  V stitch – dc,ch3,dc in the same stitch

Gauge: 4×4 inch, 11 dc

Instructions: 

63 ch

R1: dc in the 4 th ch from the hook, dc in each ch ( 61 dc), ch3 turn

R2: *fpdc, bpdc*, repeat, dc in last ch, ch 3 turn

R3 – R6: repeat R2

R7: turning ch 3 from R.6, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, skip 2 ch, (dc, ch3, dc in same ch – V stitch), skip 2 ch, *dc, skip 2 ch, V st, skip 2 ch* repeat 6 more times, dc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc,fpdc, dc, ch3 turn 

R8: fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, dc, *5dc in V st ( in ch2 space), ch1*, repeat 7 times, dc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, dc, ch 3 turn

R9: fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, dc, ch2, dc between dc and 5 dc from previous r, *dc in third ch, skip 2 ch, V st in ch 1 space*, repeat 6 times, skip 2 ch, dc, skip 2 ch, dc between 5dc and dc from previous r, ch2, dc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, dc, ch 3, turn

R110: turning ch3, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc,fpdc, dc, dc, *3dc in V stitch, dc, dc, dc*, repeat until you reach fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, fpdc, dc, ch3 turn

R111, 112, 113, 114, 115 alternate fpdc, bpdc as in the beginning of the shawl.

Pocket (make two):

ch 29

R1: dc in 4 th ch from the hook, dc in each ch – 27dc, ch3 turn

R2, R3:*bpdc, fpdc, * repeat, dc, ch3 turn

R4: bpdc, fpdc,bpdc,*dc, skip ch 2, V stitch,skip ch 2*,  repeat 2 times, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, ch 3 turn

R5: bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, 5dc in V stitch, ch1 , 5dc in V st, ch1, 5dc in V st, dc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, ch3 turn

R6: bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, ch2, dc in between dc and 5 dc from previous row, skip 2 ch, dc, skip 2 ch  V st in ch 1 space, skip 2 ch, dc, skip 2 ch, V st in ch 1 space, skip 2 ch, dc, skip 2 ch dc in space between 5dc and dc from previous row, ch 2, dc, bpdc, fpdc, bpdc, dc, ch 3, turn

Finishing: Sew in all the loose ends. place the pockets evenly on each side of the shawl and sew them with the yarn.
